We are currently looking for a full-time
Brake Press Operator to add to our dedicated team of fabricators and installers of architectural metal and glass products.

Our
Brake Press Operator reports to the Fabrication
Manager and collaborates with the project team to operate the brake press.


We take pride in consistently delivering at or beyond our client's expectations and aim for only the highest level of craftmanship.

Our hours of operation are Monday-Thursday, 7am

  • 4pm, Friday 7am
  • 1pm. Our business is growing and with growth comes opportunity

Roles and Responsibilities of the Brake Press Operator

  • Set up and operate brake press to bend, form or straighten metal products
  • Provide brake press expertise, support, and direction including but not limited to; brake press operation, dies, measuring devices, gauges, tooling, material handling and safety
  • Adjust controls to ensure adherence to production specifications.
  • Follow all safety practices during machine operations
  • Review blueprints and drawings of the finished product
  • Makes the appropriate adjustments to the brake press to control speed, material feed and path of the bend
  • Ensures that the brake press is properly setup, working well and producing quality product
  • Ensures that the brake press is working at full capacity, is stocked with needed materials for projects
  • Completes a quality inspection of the finished product to ensure defectfree
  • Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by the company
  • Must ensure machine safety rules are followed (light curtains, guarding, etc.)
  • Ensure all tasks are performed in the allotted time provided
  • Assure that 1st off/1st Part is inspected and meets Quality Assurance requirements
  • Bend parts according to provided drawings and specifications
  • Completion of data entry and/or paperwork as required
  • Program, set up Machines to meet customer requirements in output and quality
  • Maintain proper Manufacturing housekeeping standards
  • All other duties as assigned
  • When there is no Brake Press work the Operator must be willing to work on shear, roller and other equivalent tasks, including handwork, assembly, etc. If required, training would be provided.

COMPETENCIES (Job Knowledge/Skill, Education and related experience)

  • High School graduate or Equivalent
  • 5 years of brake press operation experience
  • Set up and operate machines and related equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills to comprehend how schematics work
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings and other specifications
  • Do quality checks using square, ruler, measuring tape, calipers
  • Must have excellent problemsolving skills
  • Must be able to stand and complete repetitive motion for extended periods of time
  • Experience with Metal Fabrication an asset
  • Ability to use Tape Measure, Vernier and other measuring tools
  • Ability to identify and change Brake Press tools
  • Ability to work independently or with supervision
  • Capable to lift up to 50lbs or 23 kilograms from ground to table level
  • Dependability
  • Excellent attention to detail/Quality orientation
  • Previous experience using a table saw would be an asset
  • Previous experience driving a Fork-Lift would be an asset
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
