    Description

    We are looking for a Process Engineering Specialist to conduct new automation equipment-related process engineering, development and validation, install equipment process continuous improvement, handle new automation cell process outsourced equipment evaluation and selection, along with process capability analysis.

    Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Engineering of new processes for equipment build by Johnson Electric/AGC. This includes research of state of the are processes, evaluation of options, feasibility studies, process validation, capability studies, GR&R's where applicable
  • Provides engineering support for process related continuous improvement activities related with installed equipment.
  • Works closely with program management, equipment manufacturing group, the design team, administration and other team members and including suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Responsible for process engineering documentation as per Johnson Electric/AGC systems
  • Set up instructions, parameter sheets, capability analysis, GR&R
  • Debugging, run-off, and implementation of cell-based manufacturing equipment, in conjunction with customer plant quality and manufacturing engineering
  • Completion of run at rate process performance testing in conjunction with manufacturing operations
  • Identify technical issues to determine root cause and implement corrective actions
  • Acquire the expertise and functional leadership necessary to apply engineering principles, conduct scientific analysis, drive continuous improvement, and manage projects effectively.
  • Monitor and understand new technologies to improve quality and efficiency ensuring the adherence to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, all Johnson Electric/AGC policies and any other industry standards in all activities
  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives
  • Actively contributing innovative ideas and engaging in collaborative brainstorming sessions are essential for driving automation solutions.
  • Champion and oversee Proof of Concept (POC) initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Our requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in developing automated systems in Canada: Specifically for automotive powertrain applications and high-precision components.Expertise in processes like press operations, vision systems, non-destructive testing (NDT), linear measuring systems, fastening (bolt installation), and leak testing.
  • Education: A Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of process engineering disciplines.
  • Automation Experience: Proficient with robotic cells and automated machines.
  • Analytical Thinking: Demonstrates excellent analytical skills.
  • Multitasking: Ability to handle diverse assignments concurrently.
  • Process Improvement: Familiarity with process improvement tools such as Lean/Six Sigma (an asset).
  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication at all levels of the organization.
