What you'll do:


The Product Data Steward creates, applies, systematizes, and strengthens data management controls across the product data domain with an enterprise scope in mind.

The Product Data Steward serves as the primary custodian of product data assets, as well as an advocate for the consistent and correct use of product data throughout the organization.


Data Management:


  • Understand the business by knowing what product data the organization possesses and where product data is located.
  • Define product data and identify assets within the product data domain.
  • Responsible for establishing and implementing data policies, procedures, and data quality metrics for product data.
  • Develop a systematic approach to monitor key data management and quality metrics, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of product data.
  • Identify root causes of poor data quality and implement corrective measures.
  • Execute audits to ensure product data is being properly managed in company systems.
  • Continuously improve data management processes, data standards, business rules, and policies.
  • Align with other data stewards on rules and policies used in different domains, processes, and departments.
  • Stay current on emerging trends and developments in the data management area to support the business.
  • Support the implementation of product information management and other product informationrelated solutions.

Supporting the Business:


  • Serve as the primary custodian of product data assets.
  • Build relationships by providing advisory services to business stakeholders requiring product data.
  • Advocate for the consistent and correct use of product data throughout the organization.
  • Escalate product data quality issues to the business, data owners, or system owners.
  • Create trust in product data by defining, measuring, improving data quality, and communicating the progress of data initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business teams to define business terms and business rules to populate the business glossary and data catalog.
  • Operate as the bridge between project teams, vendors, and other business units to build openness, trust, confidence, and strong internal business relationships.
  • Extract rules from existing documentation (like use cases, specification, system configuration, or system code), or may organize workshops and interviews with SMEs or both.
  • Drive data ownership and accountability for generating and curating sound product data into the business. Encourage accountability, targets, and compliance policies to ensure highquality data will be generated.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Information Technology and:

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in data management, data governance, master data management, product information management, and/or data stewardship activities and responsibilities, or equivalent
  • Certifications such as DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP) Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP), or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Welldeveloped negotiation, influencing, and partnership skills.
  • You believe in collaboration, building relationships and value the perspectives of others.
