Pharmacy Summer Student- TFT - Thunder Bay, Canada - St. Joseph's Care Group

Description

Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacy Technician Student is responsible for working collaboratively with pharmacy technicians and pharmacists in the inpatient pharmacy department.

• Enrolled as a student with CCAPP (The Canadian Council For Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) accredited Canadian Pharmacy Technician Program
• Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes
• Knowledge of pharmacy automation including experience with unit dose packaging and automated dispensing cabinets preferred
• Knowledge of medication reconciliation practices preferred

• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, coworkers, SJCG staff
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrated accuracy, organizational skills, problemsolving and multitasking skills
• Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Care, Compassion, and Commitment
• Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard

• Experience in inventory control, sterile pharmaceuticals preparation, and hospital pharmacy preferred

• Must maintain preregistration with Ontario College of Pharmacists and be enrolled in CCAPP approved Canadian Pharmacy Technician Program
