As a key member of the OISE Finance Office team, the Financial Assistant is responsible for providing support in all areas related processing expenditures and recoveries, and preparing and monitoring monthly financial statements, and for assisting in functions related to human resources administration.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Assisting the team with financial activities that include invoices, purchase orders, and expense reimbursements;
  • Assisting the team with the reconciliation of monthly expenses at various units;
  • Developing and maintaining spreadsheets/database for process improvements for administrative workflow
  • Providing detailed information on processes, policies, and procedures;
  • Performing diverse administrative tasks for the office operation that could include but not limited to document management processes and logístical support;

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in a business or accountingor acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum one year of recent and related financial and administrative experience in a postsecondary environment.
  • Experience verifying and processing accounts payable and receivable activities.
  • Experience processing expense reimbursements.
  • Experience maintaining financial and personnel records.
  • Strong knowledge and skills of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office software (Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent administrative, analytical, problem solving and financial skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and financial reconciliation skills; ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities to meet deadlines; ability to work well with others, dependability.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to clearly organize and communicate financial information to nonfinancial staff and faculty at all levels.
  • Demonstrated initiative, prioritize tasks, multitask and meet deadlines; ability to respond to and initiate change and to work well under pressure.
  • Strong customer support focus with a commitment to promoting positive customer relations.
  • Demonstrated sound judgement in the handling of sensitive and confidential matters.

Job Types:
Fixed term contract, Casual

Contract length: 6 months


Salary:
$22.00-$35.00 per hour
