nautical chart (ENC) production, topographic mapping and provide consulting and data

Current Need:

• GeoNet is currently expanding and is looking to add an additional GIS Technician to our

team in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. We are looking for someone to start as soon ass possible.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Knowledge and experience of Photogrammetry and DAT/EM Summit Evolution is required.
• Ability to perform regular tasks using ESRI's ArcGIS Products, Caris Paper Chart Composer, and ENC production.
• Inputting, updating, and maintaining GIS databases and layers and preparing detailed map layouts and maps.
• Inputting and reviewing GIS data for completeness, accuracy, and neatness.
• Conducting geoprocessing operations and database queries, and performing digitizing.
• Proven working experience with Python, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, and/or database management with respect to GIS.
• Experience with FME will be considered an asset.
• Other duties as required.

Required:

• Postsecondary certificate or degree in GIS, Geography, Marine Geomatics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with Geospatial technologies with emphasis on analysis, and spatial data in a GIS environment.
• Knowledge of Esri's ArcGIS suite of products
• Familiarity in mapping and geographic principles (e.g., map projections and coordinate systems).
• Ability to maintain project data, geodatabases, and correspondence in an organized manner.
• Ability to produce maps, web maps, and web apps as needed on projects.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
• Familiarity with various programming languages (SQL\TSQL, Python, c#, JavaScript, etc.).
• Selfstarter; ability to work independently with little supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a team.

In addition, this position requires the ability to:

• Work in a team environment and maintain effective relationships with various internal contacts.
• Provide assistance on matters related to multiple projects at the same time.
• Effectively communicate with clients and team orally and in writing.
• Perform assigned duties with mínimal supervision.
• Maintain confidentiality.
