About the role:

Sun Life Global Investments brings together the strength of Sun Life Financial with the best in asset management from around the world to offer a line-up of unique world class investment solutions.

This position is part of the Strategy & Analytics business unit, which is accountable for the overall corporate strategy, business operating model, key initiatives portfolio, business intelligence, and Client Journey for SLGI.

Reporting into the Director of Business Innovation, this role will assist with the implementation of business and technology initiatives aligned with SLGI's strategic objectives.

The Business Consultant will be accountable for working with the sales organization to define and implement new business processes in support of the execution of business and technology initiatives.

The role will also require the facilitation of meetings with both business and IT stakeholders to drive optimal solutions for the Individual business.

What will you do?

Consult with stakeholders across Individual Insurance & Wealth to identify functional needs and data requirements for business and technology projects
Provide business technical expertise to drive forward and support the implementation of business and technology initiatives
Assist with project activities from analysis and design through to testing, training, and deployment
Partner with internal teams and external vendors to resolve tool, technology, and data issues
Work with IT to ensure that the business requirements are well understood and collaborate with IT for solution development
Create Business Acceptance Testing Strategy and approve BAT plan
Ensure solutions fulfill business partner requirements & expectations
Assist with development of change management strategies including training, communication, and adoption plans

What you need to succeed?

4 to 5 years of experience implementing IT and business projects
Problem solving skills through the ability to understand what the issue is, define the pros and cons and make pragmatic recommendations related to complex issues
Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and meeting facilitation skills with a focus on driving results
Strong analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills
Superior verbal and written communication skills including the extensive use of Microsoft Office tools
Positive attitude and a strong customer service orientation
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize wide range of tasks

Preferred skills:

University degree or equivalent
Experience in both the insurance and wealth industries
Experience in Agile project delivery
Experience with analytics solutions

Unique requirements:

Travel between Toronto and Waterloo offices may occasionally be required
Ability to manage a flexible work schedule
