How You Will Make an Impact


The Coordinator will be tasked with the ongoing coordination, recruitment, and facilitation of an advisory committee consisting of members who identify with having Lived Experience(s) or those who access/utilize the services of Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes in Toronto.


The Advisory will support Good Shepherd's commitment to centering the voices of people with Lived/Living Experience in our policies, practices and strategic directions.


The Coordinator of the Lived Experience Advisory will facilitate communication and connection between the communities served by Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes and the leadership teams and Boards of Directors.


  • Provide work ethic in leadership and role modelling of behaviours that demonstrates the Mission, Vision and Values of Good Shepherd
  • Recruitment orientation and training of Lived Experience Advisory members
  • Supporting the Lived Experience Advisory in maintaining a terms of reference and endorsing the Lived Experience Advisory mandate as required
  • Mentoring, coaching and facilitating ongoing engagement and retention of Advisory members
  • Facilitating orientation for Lived Experience Advisory members to the continuum of Good Shepherd departments, programs and services
  • Facilitating a regular schedule of Lived Experience Advisory meetings and establishing channels of communication between the Lived Experience Advisory and Good Shepherd's programs, leadership, and boards of directors
  • Educating staff/programs/board about the role of the Lived Experience Advisory (and its' subcommittees) and supporting the integration and implementation of Lived Experience Advisory feedback into Good Shepherd's planning, policies and practices
  • Managing LEA logistics and resources (meeting space, transportation, scheduling, honorariums)
  • Tracking and communicating Lived Experience Advisory activities and accomplishments
  • Evaluating impact of Lived Experience Advisory within context of Good Shepherd's strategic plan and equity work plan
  • Coordinating with programs and staff teams when necessary to maintain presence and rapport within interdisciplinary circles of care
  • Maintain and adhere to confidentiality, PHIPA, and have appropriate protocols for managing interpersonal conflict and responding to members requiring mental health supports
  • Responsible for participating in Good Shepherd's Health and Safety programs, procedures, procedures and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risk to clients, staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd
