Description

The Project Manager will demonstrate strong leadership skills with intense attention to detail, as well as demonstrating proficiency at leading meetings as required, managing financial project components (including cost control and change orders) and demonstrates excellent communication by developing strong working relationships with employees, clients, and subcontractors, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.

This position will be a permanent position, working Monday to Friday.


What will you do?

  • Execute, monitor, and oversee all aspects (including safety, quality, commercial and technical) of assigned projects while acting in the best interest of the Company to ensure safe, ontime, and onbudget delivery.
  • Support the pursuit of potential projects, including assisting in estimate preparation and bidding.
  • Facilitate thorough risk identification and risk management before and during project execution.
  • Work with the assigned Planner/Scheduler to develop an execution plan and schedule for each project.
  • Ensure all required materials, equipment and craft personnel are on site within established schedule and budget constraints.
  • Supervise project teams consisting of craft and staff personnel.
  • Identify safety training requirements for site personnel and review all project safety documentation.
  • Be responsible for promoting a culture of health, safety and environmental accountability and actively contribute to Cahill's objective of zero losttime accidents.
  • Collaborate with Cost Control and Accounting staff to ensure appropriate financial controls and reporting is in place for each project.
  • Produce regular project reports and dashboard summaries and maintain registers for shop drawings, change orders, RFIs, etc.
  • Build and maintain open and trusting client relationships, ensuring attentiveness and responsiveness to client requirements.
  • Ensure proper project closeout documentation is prepared and submitted, including handover documentation.
  • Travel to project sites as required.

What will you bring?

  • Experience in industrial construction and technical knowledge in the Mechanical discipline are required. Multidiscipline knowledge and experience are an asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
  • Ability to focus on safe and effective execution of multiple projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
  • Strong negotiation, evaluation, and organizational skills.
