We are seeking a highly motivated
Financial Controller for a permanent full-time position at our Hamilton office.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Controller will be responsible for completing full-cycle accounting and following processes to ensure the business functions efficiently.

You will join a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly skilled team with lots of opportunity for growth. You should be self-motivated, energetic, and have a passion for business. This position is a hybrid model with 3 days a week in-office.

What you'll do

  • Oversee full cycle accounting operations including revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable and month end processes
  • Assist the Director of Finance and CFO with quarterly public financial statements
  • Assist in facilitating external audit of financial statements with external audit firm
  • Assist in coordinating and preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances
  • Ensure all reporting is compliant with statutory law and financial regulations
  • Contribute to company financial strategy and decisionmaking processes
  • Manage accounting operations in all aspects
  • Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company's procedures
  • Assist with mergers and acquisition planning and consolidating financial operations
  • Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed

A little bit about you

  • You operate in a fastpaced environment adhering to deadlines and getting the job done
  • 5+ years in an accountant or related position
  • Postsecondary education in Accounting
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire for continual learning
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • CPA designation (or working towards), an asset
  • Netsuite Enterprise experience, an asset
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite
