    Staff Electrical Engineer (Product Lead)


    Skyworks Ottawa is looking for an experienced design engineer that can lead IoT and Automotive engineering design programs from feasibility through to release. This is a technical position deeply embedded in the design community that works closely with all types of design engineers (PA, LNA, Switch, BAW/SAW, MCM, etc.) and the Program Manager (PM) to ensure all technical aspects of the program are delivered in a timely manner while meeting Skyworks high standards of quality. The successful applicant interacts with many aspects of the organization including Upper Management, Program Management, Engineering Management, Product Engineers, Test Engineering, Applications Engineering, Marketing, Systems, Packaging, Component Engineering and more.

    Responsibilities

    • Works with marketing and Applications/Systems engineers to ensure product specifications are clearly defined and understood by all interested parties.
    • Develop and maintain top level simulation bench to ensure product conformance.
    • Provides status updates, project health, etc. to Key Stakeholders.
    • Works with Lead Designer, Lab Staff (technicians and/or Validation Engineer) to ensure high quality lab output.
    • Generates and presents customer and/or measurement reports in a clear and concise manner.
    • Oversees the completion of many lab-related tasks such as Engineering Samples, Golden Unit testing, debugging, etc.
    • Attend technical meetings to identify top level issues that are only visible from higher level vantage point.
    • Training others on several items including Skyworks Product Realization Process (PRP), ISO/IATF Workflow, internal Skyworks processes, etc.
    • Using Skyworks internal tools to submit build requests, set up project spaces, ensure workspaces are simulation testbenches adhere to datasheet specifications.
    • Work with internal tools development for continuous tools improvement in terms of usability and functionality.
    • Acts as team lead for specific ISO/IATF deliverables (DFMEA, Special Characteristics, etc.)
    • Maintain Current Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 standards.

    Qualifications

    • Solid understanding of concepts such as noise figure, IP3, P1dB, PAE, ACLR, EVM, AMAM/AMPM, s-parameters.
    • Design and Lab experience with Front End Modules (FEMs).
    • Familiar with ADS and HFSS or other design/simulation tools.
    • Familiarity with EM theory, Power Amplifiers, Low Noise Amplifiers, PCB design fundamentals, RF Fundamentals
    • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, Wi-SUN, BLE, 3GPP, LTE, 5GNR
    • BS Degree and 8 years' experience, MSEE and 6 years' experience, or Ph.D and 3 years' experience.
    • Team player and self-motived to meet challenging product requirements and schedule.
    • Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and prioritization skills.
    • Proven experience in the full life cycle of product design (from feasibility to release).
