Summary of Position
RTI employs a staff of Operations Management personnel that are highly experienced in operating petroleum refining and/or chemicals processes and equipment.
On a daily basis, our Operations Managers work with refinery operations personnel and turnaround professionals to plan and carry out chemical cleaning strategies.
The Operations Technician will direct the set-up and support the execution objectives of the Operations Managers on RTI projects.This role is on-call and seasonal.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Directs refinery personnel and contractors on the staging of RTI chemistry.
- Safely sets up RTI equipment (places and connects RTIowned pumps and hoses).
- Operate and supervises others operating RTIowned pumps during the chemical injection.
- Leads cleanup efforts after the project and demobilizes equipment, per specified procedures.
- Assists Operations Managers as requested.
- Perform periodic, scheduled, and as needed maintenance on RTI Injection Pumps and Equipment.
- Maintain a consistent level of competency on RTI Injection Pump Operation and Maintenance.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None but may act in a Lead role as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to clearly and confidently communicate plans to refinery contractors (strong communication skills
- Performs work safely in all settings.
Acceptable Experience and Training
- Documented mechanical aptitude or formal mechanical education. Preference is given to those with process knowledge of upgrader, refinery or petrochemical units.
Required Certificates and/or Licenses
- Valid passport and driver's license.
works in an office environment with routine office equipment, or combination of office environment and refinery work that involves knowledge of hazardous environments and safety regulations.)
- Works within a regional shop and refinery environments.
Physical Demands (i.e. may be required to lift between 5-15 pounds, or must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, climb ladders and spend 12-16 hours on shift).
- Physical ability to lift, climb ladders and spend 1216 hours on shift.
- This position requires the use of company supplied PPE in connection with various refinery and safety council standards.
Required Travel
- Ability to travel to multiple North American markets for supporting a growing list of clients. Out of town assignments can range from 315 days in length.
