Position Summary


Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain Project & Services, the Field Contract Coordinator will be responsible for the administration of the field service contracts including commercial requirements, compliance and execution support.

The position will be based out of our Fort Saskatchewan plant site. Industrial and office work environment.


Accountabilities

  • Monitor and advise, ensuring that all service contract and procurement activities conform to relevant Sherritt policies, process, standards and procedures, and all contract laws in force.
  • Support Sherritt Supplier Relationship Management activities.
  • Define and implement requirements for the selection and prequalification of contractors, including documentation and communication of contractor responsibilities through the RFx process.
  • Define and implement requirements for contractor and supplier inspections, audits, performance and quality surveillance.
  • Define and implement Capital Project specific procedures and plans including purchasing, expediting, supplier quality, material management, traffic and logistics.
  • Define and implement requirements for the management of claims and warranties for purchase orders and agreements.
  • Identification and adoption of a robust contract governance structure for the Fort Metals site.
  • Define and implement requirements for the execution and administration of contracts and purchase orders including reporting of contractor performance, competency, equipment and adherence to onboarding and site orientation.
  • Achieve consistent and effective management of all Contracts issued by Sherritt.
  • Provide functional overview, support and guidance for Contract management operations.
  • Develop and sustain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continually monitor to ensure suppliers are adhering to our Sherritt safety program by living the Sherritt safety values.
  • Ensure Sherritt quality management system(s) are adhered to in supplier engagements.
  • Develop a Division of Responsibility (DOR) Matrix for each major contract to identify responsibilities for key activities or tasks. Matrix may be developed for each Contract, or by Contract type.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to monitor compliance with the established DOR to address any noncompliance identified.
  • Work effectively with Inventory, Logistics, and Materials Management peers to ensure timely, cost effective delivery of goods and services.
  • Work effectively with finance/accounting for supplier related activities, and with site stakeholders to enabling fact based decision making.
  • Provide timely advice and market information to internal stakeholders at their request and as available.
  • Define and implement requirements for contract formation and purchase order structure incorporating the requirements from Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Safety, Asset Integrity and Operations.
  • Define and implement requirements for the administration of a material management plan including expediting, logistics and traffic management.
  • Define standardized reporting package and guidelines for all contracts and purchase orders.
  • Embed a lean and continuous improvement mindset to achieve a highly reliable, safe, and competitive Global Supply Chain Management organization

Qualifications and Skills

  • Postsecondary diploma or degree in business or supply chain, or; Professional designation
  • SCMP, SPSM, PMP, equivalent or 10 years of procurement experience in lieu.
  • Working knowledge of procurement best practices and laws.
  • Advanced knowledge of contracting law and contracting best practices.
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent computer skills proficient in the use of MS Office products.
  • Directly applicable experience performing contract administration within an industrial setting.
