Founded in 1988, we are a professional association and regulator representing over 6,000 Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs) in our province.

Every counsellor who receives this designation has met specific education and training criteria and has committed themselves to practice according to an ethical code of conduct and standards of practice.

The BCACC is based in Victoria, the capital of British Columbia. Victoria is a true one-of-a-kind city on the Pacific coast.

bout the Position
We are seeking a full-time (35 hours per week) Professional Practice Manager to join our dynamic Member Services Team.

Reporting to the Director, Member Services and Strategic Initiatives, the Professional Practice Manager will be a key member of this department.


The Professional Practice Manager will assist the BCACC in setting standards for the curation of research and information relevant to the profession of clinical counselling, in order to assist with program development and the growth of available resources for the BCACC membership.

In addition, the Professional Practice Manager will assist members of the BCACC, and 3rdparty stakeholders, in answering practice-related questions and consulting on important projects relevant to the clinical counselling profession.


This position would be ideal for a Clinical Counsellor who has worked in a variety of settings (agency, health authority, private practice).

We are seeking an individual who is dedicated to contributing to the profession of clinical counselling through the curation of evidence-based research, who has a devotion to continued professional development, and a keen knowledge of emerging and existing topics and concerns within the profession.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Masters level education in Counselling Psychology (or affiliated degree)
  • Minimum of 57 years' experience in senior counselling or psychotherapy roles and practice environments
  • Experience in clinical practice in multiple work settings (health authority, agency, private practice)
  • Experience with structuring professional development opportunities would be an asset
  • Previous work experience in a regulatory or notforprofit environment would be an asset
  • Must hold active registration in good standing with BCACC or be eligible and obtain same upon hire with BCACC

SKILLS

Research

  • Discern current professional practice issues (across multiple work environments)
  • Identify emerging areas of interest, research and methodologies in clinical counselling practice
  • Research, assess and compile evidencebased resources to inform RCC practices
  • Collaborate with Member Services staff and some BCACC Committees to deploy research and resources to the membership (professional development opportunities, online resources, guides)

Consulting with Members and Stakeholders

  • Professional demeanor
  • Able to consult and respond to practice inquiries from the BCACC membership
  • Possesses a cohesive understanding of the clinical counselling profession in order to work with 3rdparty stakeholders and provide helpful information for program development related to the profession

Policy and Writing

  • Comfortable with reading and interpreting codes of ethics, standards of practice, regulation and legislation from regulatory bodies
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to write practice guides and accompanying policy

Team Player

  • Excellent communication skills and familiarity with working as part of a cohesive team

Salary and Benefits
