The FM Specialist is responsible for the allocation of day-to-day staffing assignments, monitoring and adjusting for shifts in workload requirements; risk and utilization measurements, monitoring the work order system; preventive maintenance planning and the repair and/or replacement of building equipment, electrical and mechanical systems; the enhancement of building esthetics; the administration and inspection of work competed by vendors and trades within LHSC, and review of service contracts; liaising with customers and responding to building system failures and emergencies.


Rate of Pay:
$34.71 per hour - $43.40 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week


Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of certified skilled trade with the Ontario College of Trades; or a 2year technical diploma related to building sciences or facilities management
  • Minimum 2.5 years recent, related experience
  • Proficient knowledge of federal and provincial legislation related to role (i.e. Criminal Code, Fire Code, Ontario Hospital Act, etc.)
  • Proficient knowledge of labour relations and LHSC union contracts
  • Proficient knowledge of electrical/mechanical standards
  • Demonstrated proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, OneNote) Proficient Knowledge of the use of fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment
  • Knowledge of the use of fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment
