The Faculty of Langara College's Faculty of Arts offers certificates, diplomas, and post-baccalaureate diplomas in a wide range of creative disciplines through nine (9) departments: Art History and Religious Studies, Design Formation, English, Film Arts, Fine Arts, Journalism, Professional Photography, Studio 58, and Web and Mobile App Design and Development.

Included among its 15 programs is Studio 58, Langara's professional theatre training program offering nationally recognized training for both actors and production personnel and the only professional photography program available in Western Canada.


The Associate Dean role was created to assist the Dean and the Faculty, with a focus on operational activity, providing leadership to the Division Chairs, Department Chairs, assistant Department Chairs and Coordinators, relieving operational pressures across the Faculty to allow for increased strategic work.

The associate dean will assist the Faculty in functions such as the development, implementation and monitoring of departmental operational plans, support the development and implementation of new programming and curricula within the Faculty, ensure that new and existing programs and curricula are regularly reviewed and updated, and ensure quality standards for program review and curriculum development.

The salary range for this role is $108,048 - $144,064* - $165,673. Compensation beyond the mid-point requires approval by the Public-Sector Employers' Council Secretariat (PSEC).
