Public Relations Specialist

Position Purpose

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create, implement, and manage the public and media relations strategy to deliver quality content and enhance brand awareness and visibility for the ACSA, including:
  • Communicate programs, accomplishments, and awareness campaigns in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Establish strong relationships with local, national, and trade media.
  • Provide expert advice and support on media relations to ACSA's senior administration and staff and managed budgets for specific media campaigns.
  • Create and oversee the team's engaging and informative content creation for various platforms, including websites, social media, and print.
  • Lead and mentor communications team members, overseeing the team's effectiveness by executing communication strategies and plans.
  • Align internal communications with the emerging topics, construction progress, and milestones reached across the Association.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
-
Education:Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, or related field.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • 3+ years experience in a leadership role.
  • A recognized professional communications or marketing association designation is considered an asset.
  • A proven track record of success in a fastpaced environment is considered an asset.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strategic thinker with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing communications, PR & media relations strategies.
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital media and content management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and persuasive messages for various audiences.
  • Experience with issues/crisis management communication is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and safety regulations is considered an asset.

Logistics

  • This position is based on a 40hour work week, a hybrid work model (ACSA facility, home office) and out of our Edmonton office.
  • This position requires some travel, evening, and weekend work based on business events such as conferences and workshops.

Salary:
Starting at 89,928+, depending on experience and qualifications
