Key Responsibilities:

Write compelling, clear, concise news scripts under tight deadlines
Write stories according to station policies, editorial style and rundown
Research and evaluate news stories and sources
Update news stories as stories develop
Work as part of a team
Write scripts and add production (video, clips and graphics)
Coordinate video editing of news stories
Other duties as assigned.
Must be available to work weekends, early/late shifts

Critical Qualifications:

Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
Indepth knowledge of political, domestic, international news and current affairs.
Excellent organizational skills.
Proficient in Word and iNews.
Exceptional communication skills
Ability to create clear, compelling, concise news stories from raw materials including: unedited video, reporter notes, desk notes, telephone interviews, wire copy, turnaround live news conferences
Writing style
Familiarity with video editing systems
Ability to respond rapidly and effectively to breaking news
Demonstrated ability to originate coverage on developing stories.
Experience selecting video to tell stories.
