Under the general direction of the Enterprise Architect, the Technical Writer is responsible for supporting all divisional activities by
drafting and editing to produce complex, high quality policies, procedures, articles, web site content, and other documents. The
Technical Writer is required to work in a team environment and provide effective solutions to documentation requirements in
observance of Manitoba Hydro's practices and policies.


_ Responsibilities:
_


  • Acquire, compile and arrange materials as required for the preparation of policies, procedures, web site content, and other
documents as required.

  • Edit all provided materials for spelling, grammar and standards for clarity of presentation.
  • Communicate suspected errors and in conjunction with the technical experts make necessary corrections.
  • Establish and maintain templates to ensure divisional consistency and in alignment with Digital and Technologies and
  • Manitoba Hydro documentation requirements.
  • Prioritize, organize and manage own work assignments to maintain schedules and timelines.
  • Organize and perform various components of assigned work to ensure efficient and expeditious preparation and production of

- documents.
  • Organize, publish, and maintain documents in SharePoint in such a way that information is easily accessible.
  • Prepare, convert and provide draft documents to process owners for review and approval utilizing specific software such as
  • Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Visio.
  • Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders in preparation of documents and other materials.
  • Cooperate with all customers such as Enterprise Architecture and Cyber Security, and all other departments as appropriate, in
the facilitation and development of formal documents.


_ Qualifications:
_


  • Two year diploma in Creative Communications (or in a Communications field from an institute of recognized standing) and a
minimum of two years related business and/or technical writing experience;
OR

  • Grade 12 and one year Technical Communication certification (or in a Communications field from an institute of recognized
standing) and three years of related business and/or technical writing experience.

  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Demonstrated technical and business writing ability providing clarity of information making documentation understandable.
  • Demonstrated editing skills including proficiency with spelling, grammar, formatting, punctuation, and sentence structure.
  • Demonstrated advanced word processing skills using Microsoft Word with expertise in formatting and styles.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat DC.

_ Salary Range_
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $31.31-$43.31 Hourly,
$59,998.64-$82,986.80 Annually.
