Responsibilities:


Performs a variety of duties related to the CMBC purchasing process including generating and receiving requisitions, sending and receiving Requests for Quotations (RFQ's) and Quotes to and from suppliers, and creating and sending Purchase Orders to the desired recipients.

Liaises with Inventory Procurement Analysts ensuring accuracy and completeness of documents as well as maintaining appropriate registers.

Follows up with external contacts regarding overdue, incomplete or missing information.


Is the main point of contact for internal employees regarding the maintenance of Fleet, Cardlock and Purchasing Card programs, as well as explaining purchasing policies and guidelines.

Provides a variety of administrative support for Stores and Inventory Procurement Administration as required.


Qualifications:


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Grade 12 graduation plus courses in business and standard Office tools (advanced word processing, basic spreadsheets, database management, etc).

Completion of Level I of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) program to gain knowledge of the general aspects of buying and industry terminology to be used when handling vendor calls.


Requires one (1) year previous experience in a purchasing related environment involving various external contacts and suppliers, where knowledge of related terminology and procedures has been acquired.

A further period of up to one (1) year in the position is required to become familiar with CMBC's procurement procedures, standards and processes as well as the inventory control section, the computer and database systems.

An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process.

A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.


Work Schedule:

37.5 hours per week.


Work Designation:

Resident

This position works predominately on-site.


Rate of Pay:

Salary $5,157 - $6,188 per month (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
