What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop a strategic plan for the delivery of advanced psychometrics, analytics, and research procedures
  • Oversee and manage the development of measurement and assessment procedures, analysis policies, guidelines, standards, and research
  • Design assessment instruments and incorporate most recent research on student evaluation methods and achievement
  • Lead the production of research reports, publications and presentations that facilitate executive decision making and planning
  • Provide expert advice to ministry offices, agencies and stakeholders and present detailed findings for proposed initiatives and assessment results
This role offers a hybrid work schedule (up to two (2) days of remote work per week).


How do I qualify?:


Strategic Leadership and Management Skills:


  • You have inclusive leadership skills to lead, mentor and motivate a high performing team to achieve high quality and timely results
  • You have project management experience to deliver and implement multiple, large scale and multidisciplinary projects in a fastpaced environment
  • You have successfully led and delivered change initiatives amongst evolving priorities
  • You have experience with operational management, including financial planning, budgeting as well as managing workload and human resources

Technical Expertise:


  • You have knowledge of assessment theory, design and modelling, including psychometrics, research analysis, methodologies and measurement for the delivery of effective assessment programs and activities
  • You are able to manage all aspects of planning, designing and delivering research project initiatives
  • You have the ability to develop methods and procedures for and coordinate the activities of the various sections in the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) to ensure the timely completion of the deliverables.
  • You have excellent knowledge of data reporting and advanced statistical analysis techniques such as Item Response Theory (IRT), scoreequating, hierarchical linear modelling, and use of statistical system software (SPSS, SAS or R) to advance research and data insights

Communication and Relationship Management Skills:


  • You have knowledge of assessment theory, design and modelling, including psychometrics, research analysis, methodologies and measurement for the delivery of effective assessment programs and activities
