Position Summary:

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

- assisting students in Kindergarten, Division I and Division II
- supporting students who have significant academic and behavioural challenges, cognitive delays, communication disorders, autism or have experienced trauma
- adapting and modifying materials to support student success
- promoting independence in daily routines including self care
- providing office or library support as needed
- assisting student with g-tube feeding on an infrequent basis
- assisting students with personal care including toileting

Education/Qualifications:

- a two year post secondary program in a related field
- a minimum of two years of related experience preferably in an educational environment
- experience working with and providing interventions to students who have developmental delays and learning disabilities
- experience supporting students who have emotional and/or behavioural challenges and physical/medical disabilities
- proven ability to implement effective de-escalation strategies
- excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- proven success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
