What can I expect to do in this role?: You will:

  • provide financial and human resources analysis, support and advice to ministry programs (e.g. FTE's, estimates, appropriations, allotments, financial planning, monitoring, forecasting, reporting and analysis)
- assist the development and delivery of technical financial training
- review the efficiency of program delivery, set and monitor performance standards and targets
- evaluate results and propose new standards
- prepare financial reports, presentations and documents for management
- assist in divisional initiatives and projects


How do I qualify?:


Financial and Business Knowledge:


  • You have sound knowledge of the principles and practices of the financial planning process (i.e. operational planning, budgeting and forecasting, financial and cost management control).
  • You have expert knowledge of analytical techniques (i.e. variance reporting, cost benefit analysis and core business performance measures).
  • You can follow financial policies and procedures as well as administrative and human resources practices, principles and standards.
  • You can interpret legislation and understand the issues affecting your client groups.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:


  • You can interpret and analyze financial data in a wide variety of program activities.
  • You have thorough understanding of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques.
  • You can use computerbased analysis and modeling techniques.
  • You can conduct research and solve problems to implement program efficiency measures.

Communication and Teamwork Skills:


  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to prepare business cases, reports, presentations, provide advice and deliver training.
  • You can work independently and as a member of a team.
