Job Description:


  • Advise and assist managers and employees in the organization throughout the recruitment process and the employment lifecycle while ensuring compliance with applicable policy and legislation.
  • Guide management through employee leaves, performance reviews, disciplinary issues, grievances, and investigations ensuring compliance with legislation and HR best practice.
  • Manage employee relations cases across Canada.
  • Provide advice and guidance regarding HR policies, handbooks and procedures. Keep abreast of any legislative changes in Canada and ensure handbooks and any impacted policies are updated inline with those changes.
  • Provide coaching and advice to local and global business partners through ongoing catchups. Interpret data analytics to provide insights to support business partner decisions.
  • Manage business relationship with legal, immigration and community partners.
  • Complete local HR updates for quarterly Board Reports.
  • Execute our Learning and Development strategy through facilitation of presentations and/or training on HR topics to managers and staff as required.
  • Drive engagement and culture initiatives ensuring our Diversity and Inclusion values are embedded.
  • Prepare necessary documentation and conduct any local terminations/redundancies.
  • Implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Involvement in HR projects and initiatives, as required (may include global team projects across People & Culture, Compensation & Benefits, Technology & Systems, or other).
  • Any other adhoc duties, as required.

Qualifications:


  • A recognized qualification in Human Resource Management preferred.
  • 5 years of work experience in Human Resources administration.
  • Generalist HR advisory/management experience across a range of HR activities and processes on a global basis
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with employees and management.
  • Experience of stakeholder management and interaction at all levels.
  • Experience in dealing with all levels of employees in a persuasive and credible manner.
  • Detailoriented, selfstarter, and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks.
  • Indepth knowledge of Nova Scotia and Ontario employment law.
  • Objective and able to make difficult decisions and convey the message to employees in a professional manner.
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fastpaced environment, and meet deadlines.
  • Possess good computer skills to include all MS Office products.
