We have an exciting leadership opportunity on the West Coast for professional engineers with business acumen to join us as Assistant Manager.

This new role will lead a team of multidisciplinary engineers in Vancouver and take leadership to roll out strategic business initiatives in the region.

  • Gather and stay abreast of market intelligence, competitor analysis, market share and future trends, etc. Develop SWOT analysis, provide market insights for business growth and operations strategy, and chalk out a comprehensive regional business plan.
  • Lead regional team of experts and support staff, allocate projects and special assignments. Review progress and ensure projects are delivered in a timely and an accurate manner. Take on projects that relate to your engineering specialty.
  • Participate in business events and represent CEP. Attend professional associations events and deliver presentations and/or seminars as required to promote CEP's profile.
  • Address customer service issues that go beyond the sales and marketing to strengthen business relations and enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Ensure safety, health, environment, and security guidelines are followed to keep people and assets safe and secure. Ensure employees' wellbeing.
  • Train new employees and evaluate need of training for staff. Mentor, coach, and train staff and help them reach their fullest potential. Monitor and evaluate performance and take actions for improvements where needed.
  • Comply with the requirements of the Company's Quality Management System (QMS) that complies with the ISO 9001:2015 Standards. Participate in internal and external audits as and when required.
  • Participate in ad hoc and special projects as and when needed.
Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • P.Eng. designation is highly desired
  • Willing to travel within Canada, and the US
  • 68 years of business execution and leadership experience preferably in similar industry

  • Ability to lead a team of engineering experts and other professionals.
  • Ability to see real problems, manage conflicts, calling out the problems, and resolving issues in a practical and amicable manner.
  • Ability to positively influence and build sustainable relationships at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Exceptional communication, report writing, presentations, negotiation, sales, marketing, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Apps
