The
Pump Technician 2, is responsible for assembly, disassembly and repair of pump equipment. The pump technician will operate the required tools, including micrometers for the assembly and disassembly of solids control equipment. The technician will work 6AM to 5PM Monday - Friday with overtime available. Prior experience working with Oilfield equipment is desired.


As we decommission our current Leduc, AB facility, this position will be required to travel between Calgary and Leduc, assisting with the decommissioning of our current Leduc facility.

Accommodation and mileage will be reimbursed during this timeframe. This position will be based in our new Calgary office once the Leduc office has officially closed.


Requirements:


Essential Functions:


  • Installation, repair, and maintenance of all S3S owned pump assets.
  • Perform visual inspection of pump components to determine what actions are required.
  • Assist PT3 all maintenance/repair records are completed and properly filed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under mínimal supervision.
  • Performing various tests for pump performance verification: flowrate, pressure, rpm, etc.
  • Replace old or defective pump components with new ones (shafts, seals, rotors, etc.).
  • Install and align newly assembled mechanical transmission devices (V-Belts, QD bushing and sheaves, gearboxes, etc.).
  • Installation, repair, and connection of the electrical motor components on each pump skid (motor junction box, electrical plug on power cord, VFDs, etc.).
  • Perform upgrades of components or hardware of a pump.
  • Perform QA/QC checks prior to "Green-Tag" and properly record test results.
  • Working in collaboration with the Shop, Electrical, and Engineering team members.
  • Identify unsafe conditions or potential hazards Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and rebuild drying shakers, tank assets, and miscellaneous solids control equipment.
  • Assemble and prepare equipment for installation and service.
  • Assist shop manager (SM) with but not limited to: packing, loading, unloading of deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ensuring daily forklift evaluation is completed.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures and construct foundations for assembly and disassembly.
  • Ability to utilize basic measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, etc.
  • Interpret part layout drawings to determine parts to be pulled and work procedures for assembly and disassembly.
  • Record written test results on appropriate test documents.
  • Responsible for requesting tools, supplies, and fixtures needed for the team.
  • Conduct daily forklift safety evaluation.
  • Installation of basic electrical components: plugs, receptacles, sensors, etc.
  • Shadow new ST1 hires to ensure comprehension of tasks and working assignments.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Ability to use and comprehend a variety of power hand tools and inspection tools.
  • Ability to operate equipment including Front end loaders, Forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Must be able to read and write in English fluently.
  • Must have manual dexterity. Control precision.
  • Critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 22.68 Kg (50 lbs).
  • Tools will be provided to perform the work.
  • Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and rebuild various types of equipment (pumps).
  • Interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures for assembly and disassembly.
  • Operate manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools.
  • Ability to utilize all M&TE (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
  • Must be reliable and accountable to complete work.

Minimum Required Education, Credentials, Licenses and Experience:

  • Must have a high school diploma.
  • 2 year Technical Degree or an Associate's Degree is preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Prior experience working with Oilfield equipment is desired.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products; Outlook, Excel, Word and Power-Point.
