Description

We are looking for an
Electronics Repair and Failure Analysis Technician to join our team and take charge of our return merchandise process, warranty management and troubleshooting through root cause analysis.

Responsibilities & Duties:


  • Manages product returns and warranty process;
  • Manage, maintain and update RMA database and records;
  • Troubleshoot returns to identify failure modes and document all findings;
  • Design and conduct failure analysis experiments and tests to identify failure mechanism and root cause, document findings in comprehensive analytical reports to drive improvements;
  • Identify trends in failures; monitor failures for systemic and recurring issues.
  • Measures, monitors, and maintains reports for top warranty items and actively works with appropriate departments in correction of top issues;
  • Utilize failure analysis data and perform basic statistical analysis;
  • Support customer service, sales, product managers and engineers with technical input relating the product failure findings;
  • Coordinate and assist production with repairs, issue repair work orders in ERP system;
  • Perform repairs if needed, including replacing components, soldering, rewiring, etc.;
  • Maintain safe working environment by following and establishing company safety procedures;
  • Manage inventory of the return merchandise items;
  • Establish and manages KPI's for RMA and warranty items;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in electronics repair, failures troubleshooting, RMA and failure analysis;
  • 2+ years of experience with return material request and warranty management;
  • 2+ years of customer interface experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Electrical / Electronics / Electromechanical Engineering Degree or Advanced College Diploma;
  • Understanding on electronics schematics and drawings;
  • Working knowledge in circuit design is an asset;
  • Handson experience working with tools and repairing electronics;
  • Software skills: MS Office, Altium (preferred), ERP, FRACAS systems (is an asset);
  • Excellent administration, communication, planning, prioritizing and reporting skills;
  • A strong independent performer with strong analytical skills and high attention to details;
  • Ability to take on multiple responsibilities and follow through to successful completion.
