Welcome to SGS We have an immediate opening for a Weighscale Working Supervisor.
Salary Range - $65,000 to $78,000

Note:
If successful, SGS will set up a criminal background check and a 5 year driver abstract check.
Also, drug and alcohol testing as well as a physical assessment will be required as a pre hire check for this role.
This position will be responsible for:
- Match loading schedule to bill of lading.
- Weigh truck in adherence to specific load instructions.
- Fill out loading record.
- Ensure that truck is positioned at proper loading rack.
- Connection of load arms/hoses/ground straps.
- Check for the last product contained
- Check weight of truck after loading to ensure that gross weight is not exceeded.
- Communicate with facility customer supervisor on any problems as they occur.
- Complete appropriate paperwork/documentation.
- Ensures that DOT certification for weight on outbound loads is not exceeded.
- Any other duties that may be assigned in order to complete the assigned task.
- Updates the status and location of all MOT which they alter in the Clients computer tracking tool.
- Sampling Products as per Clients request
Supervisor Duties
- In addition, performing the duties of a PTO (Plant Terminal Operations) Technician the Lead Hand or supervisor will act as a Team Leader for the crew they work on.
- Assist with specific directions to SGS employees on a daily basis on the work activities that need to be accomplished.
- Solve day to day production and process problems within the department.
- Ensuring each person within their responsibility has undergone an orientation and has sufficient knowledge for their safety and health while at work.
- Ensuring that each person has sufficient information, resources and materials to do their job safely.
- Ensure that each person is performing his responsibilities with the proper behaviour and level of efficiency and address any gaps when required through proper communication and/or performance management process.
- Assist in facilitating monthly safety meetings for all employees (including development of an agenda for the meetings and minutes for group wide distribution of the meetings).
- Provide absence, vacation, and relief coverage scheduling as required in all of the areas.
- Assist with any timekeeping requirements.
- Identify process improvements and efficiencies that will benefit the customer and SGS.
- Track team training records and manage identified coming or actual gaps.
- May be assigned and coordinate special or _ad hoc_ projects as needed.
- Stewarding SGS and customer safety program.
Requirements:
- Education: High school Diploma (or equivalent) is required.
- Experience: A minimum 2 years of relevant work experience required or equivalent experience through education.
- Previous experience in a Petroleum Refinery field would be a strong asset.
- Ability and willingness to work rotating oncall shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime.
- Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Sufficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fastpaced, highly professional environment.
- Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to work well with others & independently.
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Works well under pressure.
- Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
- Travel to other SGS locations or client location may be required from time to time.
- Ensures full compliance with the company's Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.
- Ability to manage interpersonal conflict and develop team performance and unity
