Position Overview

  • The Manager, Service Design plays a key role in facilitating an exceptional member and employee experience through the efficient use of innovative processes and tools. The incumbent partners with all relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition between frontend and backend processes, leveraging technology when possible and supported by efficient project management skills and Lean philosophy when introducing new processes.
  • CORE OUTCOMES:
Leadership

  • Builds and leads a cohesive team ensuring all performance management processes are established, performance standards developed, performance appraisals conducted, and development opportunities identified and implemented.
  • Provides leadership to all direct reports; provides coaching to build capabilities and fosters professional development to enable employees to optimize their contribution and maximize employee engagement.
  • Translates and communicates G&F's strategies and objectives with relevant teams and colleagues to ensure successful execution of the annual business plan.
  • Ensures the Service Design team is representing and delivering the G&F brand and internal service standards consistently and effectively.
Process Improvement

  • Proactively reviews processes and identifies opportunities to drive improvements creating efficiency, capacity and value.
  • Reviews processes for alignment with organizational strategies and regulatory requirements and implements recommended innovative solutions as required.
Research & Analysis

  • Conducts staff focus groups in order to identify roadblocks and opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Conducts market research for the purpose of benchmarking G&F Financial Group with other financial institutions on productivity and operational structure.
  • Works with external consultants to identify process improvement opportunities and solutions.
  • Develops recommendations for reengineering and automating systems and processes.
Project Management

  • Works with the project management team to deliver service design resources for medium to large scale, or complex, organizational projects.
  • Works with and/or leads internal teams to plan, manage and implement organizational projects as required.
Technical Implementation & Maintenance

  • Develops and implements mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of new processes; follows up with recommendations regarding reevaluation of changes.
  • Creates, reviews, and updates process and procedure documentation of systems and processes.
  • Provides change management support on all process systems that are implemented.
  • Partners with Human Resources to ensure change management planning and training are in place for system use and communicate any system changes.

Requirements:


  • Postsecondary business degree
years of related experience

  • Knowledge of financial products and services (loans, deposits, wealth management)
  • Knowledge of sales processes and Lean philosophy
  • Strong research, business analytics, and project management capabilities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Equivalent combination of the above may be appropriate
