Description

The Counter Sales Representative is an integral function in the branch's ability to provide excellent customer service to all of our clients and effectively maintaining the preparedness of the branch for each year's annual inventory.


Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for Counter Sales, Inside Sales and quotes, quote follow up and after sale service.


Your job duties are, but not limited to:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Offering exceptional customer service at our counter and over the phone
  • Responding to inquiries and processing incoming calls and orders
  • Contacting current customers and identifying new products and potential upselling
  • Entering orders into system
  • Purchasing materials for customers
  • Sourcing materials for customers when currently not in stock
  • Providing product information, pricing quotations and followup on quotes
  • Offering technical expertise on products to purchasers
  • Developing and maintaining positive customer relationships
  • Counter Sales and handling returns as required
  • Picking Priority orders
  • Closing orders and stocking bins
  • Keeping counter and sales area clean
  • Merchandising and showcasing product

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Exceptional customer service
  • Ability to develop long term relationships and generate referrals from your customers
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Impeccable organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Time management & multitasking skills to serve several customers at the same time
  • Strong networking skills, outgoing personality
  • Selfmotivated; able to function effectively both independently and as a member of a team
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fastpaced work environment

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • Post-Secondary courses in Plumbing or Heating considered an asset
  • Skilled in serving and negotiating with institutional and industrial purchasers, plumbing contractors and the public
  • Knowledge of plumbing and heating industry or a background in plumbing products would be considered an asset
