Plant Manager. This role is based in our Mississauga Plant, and reports to the Director of Manufactruing.
Summary
We are currently looking for a Plant Manager for our Mississauga Plant who will be responsible for the daily management and coordination of plant operations including production, blending, and maintenance while ensuring compliance with all safety, labor, environmental, ISO, and corporate policies and regulations.
He/she will ensure the plant operates within an established budget while producing quality finished goods and continually looking for methods to make improvements in costs, quality of the product, staffing requirements, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance profitable operations of the plant by managing staff activities, reviewing production costs, product quality modifying production and inventory control programs.
- Ensure plant can accommodate growth and future capacity requirements and contribute to corporate innovation projects.
- Ensure safe working environment and oversee management systems, protect employees and the organization against risk, including machine safety.
- Develop plans for efficient use of resources and deploy these resources to achieve 100%+ labor and machine productivity levels and meet conversion cost variance goals.
- Ensure followup of process nonconformity, complaints and corrective actions in order to maintain the company's quality standards.
- Perform necessary administrative functions related to the position, including reporting to executive management through monthly reports, operations meetings and verbal followup. Ensure objectives are met and results are shared.
- Recruit, train and supervise all direct reports. Evaluate their performance while motivating them to achieve personal and professional goals. Plan for succession and analysis strengths and development are as needed and supported by the action plan.
- Develop and execute the plant manufacturing budgets.
- Issue Task Analysis directives.
- Delegates responsibility and authority to permit management staff to develop maximum efficiency.
- Monitors effectiveness of plant Loss Prevention Inspection Program.
Requirements:
- Completion of University in a technical or businessrelated discipline or equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment. Holding different positions throughout the plant preferred
- Experience balancing multiple priorities and implementing large projects
- Experience in strategic planning, resource allocation, employee relations, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources
- Experience with ISO implementation and compliance
- Proven track record of improving performance in a leadership role
- Experience and/or familiarity with Lean projects
- Experience and a strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices
