Description

Responsibilities

  • Work in a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safe execution of construction activities through safe work planning, rescue plans, inspections, and audits
  • Provide incident response and investigation to determine root cause and corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, site policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Prepare Job Hazard Analysis, and other workplace plans such as emergency response plans, fall protection, traffic control, permit to work
  • Mediate health and safety issues to resolution
  • Inspect project work areas and recommend corrective action
  • Promote a safe and inclusive culture
  • Participates in the development of standards, procedures, practices and provides infield coaching and training to personnel
  • Participates in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, preactivity meetings, incident reviews, and emergency response exercises
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Professional accreditation in safety, health, or emergency response preferred
  • AEMCA (Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant) certification is highly preferred
  • Minimum 3 (Three) years to 5 (Five) years of progressive experience is required
  • EMT experience and Class 3 First Aid Certification are highly preferred
  • Marine experience preferred
  • Hands on heavy civil construction in field environment
  • Demonstrates competency in Safety Management Systems and safetybased behavior as part of safety culture
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Proven selfmotivated, team player with a positive attitude
  • Strong verbal communication skills, ability to effectively engage craft, supervisors, and management
  • Valid G class or F class license
Position will be a salaried position working on a rotational basis. Extended hours may be required on occasion. Must be flexible to work on a team rotational schedule
