Description

Responsibilities

Work in a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safe execution of construction activities through safe work planning, rescue plans, inspections, and audits
Provide incident response and investigation to determine root cause and corrective actions
Ensure compliance with legislation, site policies, and standard operating procedures
Prepare Job Hazard Analysis, and other workplace plans such as emergency response plans, fall protection, traffic control, permit to work
Mediate health and safety issues to resolution
Inspect project work areas and recommend corrective action
Promote a safe and inclusive culture
Participates in the development of standards, procedures, practices and provides infield coaching and training to personnel
Participates in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, preactivity meetings, incident reviews, and emergency response exercises
May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Professional accreditation in safety, health, or emergency response preferred
AEMCA (Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant) certification is highly preferred
Minimum 3 (Three) years to 5 (Five) years of progressive experience is required
EMT experience and Class 3 First Aid Certification are highly preferred
Marine experience preferred
Hands on heavy civil construction in field environment
Demonstrates competency in Safety Management Systems and safetybased behavior as part of safety culture
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite
Proven selfmotivated, team player with a positive attitude
Strong verbal communication skills, ability to effectively engage craft, supervisors, and management
Valid G class or F class license

Position will be a salaried position working on a rotational basis. Extended hours may be required on occasion. Must be flexible to work on a team rotational schedule
