What we are looking for:


As a member of our interprofessional team, you will be responsible for ensuring the systems supporting the coordination and facilitation of flow within the Emergency department are maintained.

In this role you will utilize your goal-orientated, client centered approach to care.


You are someone who can work in a fast paced environment and can prioritize multiple competing priorities and can critically problem solve to ensure that an efficient clinic flow is maintained.


What you will achieve with us:
Exercise judgement and independence to upkeep patient flow system for Emergency Department Patients and staff. Duties not limited to but include the following


Scheduling:
creating schedules, schedule maintenance along with managing daily staffing challenges (this will include managing sick calls, calling staff in with tracking, filling weekly holes, shift giveaways/exchanges, etc )
Maintenance, upgrades, analytics, and roll out of the scheduling software
Accountable to union collective agreements and self scheduling guidelines
Supporting daily payroll entry, validation and maintenance
Tracking of vacation approvals
Ordering of office supplies, medical products, pamphlets and print shop materials
Escalating and managing equipment issues or needs
Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure targets are met, and revenue is generated
Support staff with polices and procedures relating to staffing, vacation, etc...
Data entry and maintaining data integrity in tracking systems
Managing ED task calendar, supporting team with meeting planning, scheduling and set ups, along with supplementary material and meeting minutes
Coordinate small scale projects with external team - such as ordering new products, working through PESC, etc...


What you bring to the role:
Completion of a relevant educational program from a recognized institution (eg Data Entry, Medical Administrative Support, Payroll Clerk, Pre-Health Sciences)
Minimum 1 year relevant administrative hospital experience
Proven MS office proficiency (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Experience with the development and coordination of complex staff schedules in both a union and non-union environment.
Proven ability to facilitate and coordinate efficient flow of a busy work environment
Previous experience as a resource to both internal and external stakeholders
High attention to detail is required
Demonstrated excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Superior communication (verbal and written) skills and ability to effect strong public relations with staff, physicians, physician offices, patients, volunteers, WSIB and network coordinators
Proven well-developed customer-service focus
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to think independently to proactively anticipate the needs of the program
Must demonstrate high initiative and efficiency
Demonstrate a high degree of energy, enthusiasm, initiative, self direction and the ability to work independently or in a team environment with mínimal supervision
Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in work and be able to problem solve
Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard

Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.


Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday days. Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.


Compensation:


Band R:
$27.60- $32.97 per hour
