Choices Markets' production Bakery/Kitchen on Marine Way near Boundary Road has an opening for a full time Baker/Pastry Chef

  • Mixing and baking an assortment of breads including baguettes, artisan, and pan breads;
  • Mixing and baking an assortment of buns;
  • Assisting pastry with mixing and baking as time and opportunity allows;
  • Mix and bake an assortment of cakes, cheesecakes;
  • Mix and cook fillings, icings, mousses;
  • Build, mask and decorate cakes;
  • Sheet, cut, bake and decorate cookies;
  • Mix pie dough and cook pie fillings from scratch; and,
  • Maintaining a clean, wellstocked and organized work environment.

The ideal applicant:

  • Has experience in both baking and pastry;
  • Ideally a graduate of pastry school;
  • Has 3+ years working in the field, ideally including production experience;
  • Is creative;
  • Has an eye for detail and produces products that are consistent in size, weight, look, and taste;
  • Is able to lift 25 kg and able to stand the whole shift;
  • Is able to work independently or with mínimal supervision;
  • Has Foodsafe Level 1 Certification; and,
  • Open availability including weekends.
