Position Overview:
As a Service Supervisor with Finning Canada, you will manage the Electrical Services team by providing strong leadership, measure technician productivity, coach, mentor, provide performance feedback and support the growth of the technicians.
You will develop and leverage both internal and external relationships to identify process improvements, create standardization, and understand and achieve business goals.
Job Description:
- Responsible for the staff including orientation, coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, supporting growth and development opportunities for a diverse team of employees
- Champion a healthy and safe work culture ensuring that all safety standards, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements are communicated, implemented, and followed
- Supervise personnel including electricians, welders, tool technicians, shipper/receivers and yard/warehouse persons
- Sound knowledge of all Electrical Infrastructure and how it can be utilized safely and effectively in temporary power configurations
- Day to day management of the Electrical Shop and the completion of tasks associated with the shop
- Work with employees to ensure completion of all work orders and required paperwork in a timely fashion
- Execute all manufacturing builds and supporting the customer service agreements
- Parts ordering and management for the effective operation of the shop
- Maintain 3rd Party vendor relationships
- Assist the Branch Operations Supervisor with the project estimating
- Interface with the customers by telephone or in person as required in a prompt, courteous, businesslike manner
- Training, facilitating, and learning principles, best practices and methodologies
- Thorough understanding of the union and Finning's collective agreement
- Understand and adhere to Finning's policies and procedures
- Provide oncall after hours support as needed
Qualification:
- Red Seal Journeyman Electrician preferred
- Minimum of 5 years Leadership experience, within a Union Environment preferred
- Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring and conflict resolution skills
- Experience within larger organizations with a proven track record of influencing authority at all levels and implementing corporate strategies
- Ability to effectively interface will all levels of internal and external stake holders
- Excellent project management, organization and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Rentalman or related ERP is an asset
- Experience in an Electrical Assembly shop is an asset
- Experience with maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of Electrical Systems is an asset
