CUPE 5791 Job Family Operational Services Category Staff Number of Vacancies 1 Position SummaryReporting to the Manager, Housing Services, the Administrative Assistant will support all functions within Housing Services.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assigning students rooms in housing;
- Ensuring room offer security deposits have been collected by specific deadlines;
- Assisting with cancellations, deferrals and reassignments;
- Completing movein and moveout procedures;
- Providing front desk support including answering inquiries, taking payments and completing daily cash out;
- Housing Award administration and support;
- Payment plan administration and support;
- Generate reports for management as requested;
- Support meal plan administration;
- Keycard creation and key management; and,
- Provide support to large events and groups staying oncampus.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Grade 12 supplemented by the completion of a recognized business course combined with a minimum 3 years' office administration experience;
- Experience with basic accounting principles and advanced Excel knowledge;
- Experience taking payments and cash out;
- Demonstrated intermediate knowledge and skill in the use of Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel;
- Knowledge of University of Regina policies and procedures;
- Completion of the Office Administration certificate preferred;
- Previous experience in housing or hospitality preferred;
- Demonstrated skill and experience operating complex database systems with a preference for experience in Banner, Caspur, and StarRez;
- Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to listen, accurately comprehend and respond to inquiries;
- Ability to exercise mature judgement, initiative, and maintain confidentiality;
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fastpaced environment;
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills;
- Proven ability for accuracy and attention to detail is critical in this position;
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills are required;
- Ability to work some flexible hours is required;
- This position works oncampus to support our students and guests.
Primarily an office environment.
May be required to do some lifting during resident move-in/move-out's.
Pay Grade CUPE Phase 4 Salary Range $42, $57,457.40 Annually Status Term Work Hours
Typically 8:15 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday.
Evening and weekend work may be required to support events, this varies.
May be scheduled to work during "University Closures" to support 24/7 operations.
