Job Summary:


Qualifications:


Required:


  • Completed Grade XII, Manitoba standards or equivalent
  • Proof of successful completion of 40S English course or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program, or the equivalent in education and experience as determined by CancerCare Manitoba
  • One year of experience in a secretarial role with team experience within a health care setting
  • Medical terminology, transcription, and minute taking skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada
  • Will be assessed during the interview process:_
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, customer service and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to adapt to stressful situations
  • Ability to liaise with staff at all levels in the organization and ability to maintain a high level on confidentiality
  • Will be assessed during the testing process:_


  • Written communication skills

  • Written composition test (70% passing benchmark)
  • Medical Terminology Test (70% passing benchmark)
  • Computer keyboarding skills of 30 wpm with high degree of accuracy

Preferred:


  • Previous Experience within a health care setting
  • Experience working in a medical oncology environment

Asset:


  • Ability to speak French
