EIPS is recruiting a temporary part-time Library Technician at Fort Saskatchewan High.
Fort Saskatchewan High serves approximately 475 students in grades 10 to 12, with 24 teaching staff and 13 support staff.
Fort Saskatchewan High aims to provide a stimulating student-centered environment that models lifelong learning where every person is provided with the opportunity to reach their own potential.
Commencing January 27, 2023Ending March 17, 2023
35 hours per week, 7.0 hours per day

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
High School Diploma
Library Technician Diploma (2 years) or equivalent education
Minimum of one-year related experience
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies
Strong oral and written communication skills including library advocacy
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and time management skills to support students
Experience tracking and maintaining a library budget
Reliability and dependability
Comfort and competency working with personal computers and other technologies to support student learning
Ability to respect and value all individuals with sensitivity to diversity
Ability to respond appropriately to challenging behaviours of students
Ability to effectively utilize crisis intervention strategies
Ability to demonstrate flexibility in work assignments
Knowledge of general library operations along with a knowledge of various specific routines and practices that are common to all libraries.
Knowledge of computers in a networked environment
Knowledge of website layout and design
Knowledge of general office equipment
Ability to operate and perform minor repairs on audio-visual equipment
The ability to maintain consistent routines and practices with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to take direction as well as be self-motivated and work independently
