Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader for the role of Medical Imaging Director with the Provincial Support Services portfolio of Information Technology.

The Director will be making decisions on strategic direction and goals for AHS wide enterprise imaging so physician, clinician, and community stakeholders' can deliver on their objectives.

The Director is accountable for providing leadership to a diverse provincial team in the management of systems and services provided to imaging services.

You will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of business practices, policies, and procedures related to the ongoing maintenance of provincial imaging systems.

You will be viewed as an expert or specialist that senior leadership relies on for recommendations on new technology that will drive the continuous improvement to business process and patient care.

To be successful you must be confident in your communication skills and be committed to developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders.

Internal stakeholders include but are not limited to all Clinical Operations, Strategic Clinical Networks, Primary Care Networks, Clinical Support Services (Pharmacy, Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging, HIM), Enterprise Information Exchange (Netcare, and data repositories), Technology Services for infrastructure, network, storage and desktop services.

External partners include Alberta Health, AMA, ASR, CPSA, Universities, Community providers and other pan-Canadian health care organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate degree in IT, business administration or related health care field. Working knowledge in Leadership and Management, Financial Management, Communication and Negotiation. Strong understanding of the Information Technology role in a health care setting. Service Management and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and tools. Knowledge of the EPIC system would be considered an asset.
