Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter Formwork to join our construction team.
As a Carpenter Formwork Specialist, you will be responsible for creating high-quality formwork structures for various concrete elements, including foundations, footings, and walls.
Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the successful completion of construction projects.Responsibilities:
- Nice to have: Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to understand formwork requirements for foundations, footings, and walls.
- Measure, cut, and shape wooden materials, such as plywood, timber planks, and boards, to construct formwork structures according to specifications.
- Assemble, install, and align formwork components accurately, ensuring the formwork is sturdy and properly braced.
- Incorporate reinforcement, such as steel bars or mesh, within the formwork to provide additional strength and support to the concrete structure.
- Collaborate with the construction team to ensure the formwork design aligns with project requirements and meets safety regulations.
- Use appropriate tools and equipment, including power tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments, to complete formwork tasks efficiently and safely.
- Assist in the coordination and scheduling of concrete pouring activities, ensuring the formwork is prepared and ready for concrete placement.
- Monitor the concrete pouring process, ensuring proper compaction and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and construction specifications throughout the formwork process.
- Safely dismantle and remove formwork components after concrete has cured, minimizing damage to the concrete structure and preserving reusable materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Comply with safety regulations and procedures, promoting a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter Formwork or a similar role in the construction industry.
- Solid understanding of construction plans and formwork design principles.
- Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and shaping wooden materials accurately.
- Strong knowledge of formwork assembly, reinforcement techniques, and shuttering methods.
- Familiarity with various types of formwork systems and materials, including wood, steel, aluminum, and plastic.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, following instructions and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in formwork construction.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in demanding and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety, following safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with the construction team and address any concerns or issues.
Salary:
$30.00-$35.00 per hour
