Position Summary:


Reporting to the Stores Purchasing Manager, the Aircraft Rotables Specialist is responsible for managing the Rotable Parts Program including but not limited to, ordering, purchasing, and forecasting the reliability of existing parts and seeking out opportunities to improve the program and create cost savings and long-term efficiencies.


Additionally, they will focus on the management of vendor relationships and monitor vendor performance to identify any opportunities for improvement.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Manage full scope of rotable components program including tooling
  • Assist and support relationships with existing vendors and promote ongoing monitoring of vendor performance including seeking out new vendor opportunities where feasible
  • Promote ongoing monitoring and assessment of vendor performance and identify and rectify any lead time or performance issues
  • Build and maintain rotable standard repair scopes and processes
  • Manage the repair order system and conduct regular followups of outstanding repair orders
  • Approve part quotes and update repair orders accordingly.
  • Act as liaison between Stores, Maintenance Operation Control and Reliability teams to advise and consult on rotable standards and areas for improvement including forecasting
  • Coordinate with our bases to track and monitor U/S Parts
  • Some travel required
  • Create and implement a comprehensive quality control program aimed at reducing errors
  • Ensure all materials related to the aircraft are maintained and stored in accordance with Transport Canada's Aviation Regulations and Calm Air International policies and procedures
  • Following all policies and procedures which will enhance and maintain operational safety and efficiency including all related roles and responsibilities in regard to the Calm Air SMS Program, as outlined in the SMS Manual, CA100
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Previous aviation maintenance or parts experience considered an asset
  • Winair system experience considered an asset
  • Postsecondary education in a related field considered an asset
  • Previous experience & knowledge in warehousing, receiving and inventory control considered an asset
  • Proven organizational, multitasking and time management skills
  • Excellent computer, written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of accountability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain enhanced security clearance
  • Inuktitut language considered an asset
  • Preference will be given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
