Jardeg is hiring Insulator Journeypersons to join the Heartland Constructors Inc. Maintenance team at the CNRL Albian site near Fort McMurray, Alberta on a permanent, full-time basis. This is an exciting fly-in, fly-out position with charter flights provided from Calgary or Edmonton. Embrace a well-balanced schedule, working on a 7-days on and 7-days off rotation, with each workday consisting of 11.5 hours (including two 30-minute breaks - one paid and one unpaid).


Insulators apply, remove and repair thermal and acoustical insulation (e.g., calcium silicate, glass foam, mineral wool, Styrofoam, fiberglass) on all types of industrial equipment (e.g., duct piping, heat exchangers, tanks, vessels).

An insulator Journeyperson will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Install, maintain, and repair insulation on a variety of equipment, pipelines, vessels, and structures.
  • Safely and accurately use hand and poweroperated tools and equipment relevant to the insulation trade.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes to plan insulation projects effectively.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the installation, fitting, fabrication, and attachment of insulation, finishing, and weatherproofing materials to meet the highest standard of workmanship.
  • Collaborate with project teams to determine insulation requirements, select suitable materials, and implement efficient installation methods.
  • Ensure precise insulation thickness and proper fit to achieve optimal energy efficiency and safety.
  • Supervise, train, and coach apprentices, fostering their growth and development in the trade.
  • Coordinate insulation work with other trades on the job site to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and guidelines of the construction industry, prioritizing a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Thoroughly understand and describe all systems requiring insulation within the scope of the project.
  • Perform assigned tasks in adherence to industryrequired quality and production standards.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Insulator certification or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Proven experience as a Journeyman Insulator, preferably in industrial or construction settings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insulation materials, tools, and installation techniques.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and independently as required.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and project stakeholders.

Additional Requirement:


Minimum Requirements

  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or CSTS0
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space Entry & Monitor
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection
  • Basic Rigging Certification
  • Valid Government Issued Identification
