Due to sustained growth, we are currently looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our growing team. The role will be mandatory in office until training is complete then will move to be a partial remote/in-office position


Key Accountabilities:


  • Manage the reception desk, answering and routing incoming calls in a pleasant and friendly matter.
  • Books travel for Descon staff. Travel is often required to be booked on evenings and weekends due to the nature of Descon's business and availability for bookings is required.
  • Take a lead role in planning, organizing, and executing company events for Descon's staff. Be a key contributor of Descon's social committee.
  • Responsible for matching invoices to packing slips/purchase orders.
  • Input payables into company accounting software in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy.
  • Reconcile company credit card statements as required.
  • Must be very capable with computers and motivated to learn new systems.
  • Assists with general office and clerical duties, data entry.

Requirements:


  • Pleasant, professional, and courteous personality with a passion and energy for exceptional customer service is a must.
  • Availability to book travel on evenings and weekends is a must.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Sage is an asset.
  • Postsecondary education pertaining to Office Administration and Accounting would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Ability to work well independently and selfdirect.
  • Computer savvy, including effective working knowledge and skills of MS Office software
  • Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices.
  • Able to maintain confidential information.
