Position summary:_


The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the health and safety of staff in the workplace.

They will ensure the company is in compliance and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work-related accidents and injuries.

Responsibilities:_

  • Observe and enforce onsite safety procedures and policies as defined in the MSC Safety Manual by completing safety and equipment audits, reviews and reports.
  • Collaborate with managers and field personnel to drive MSC's Safety Culture and continuously improve the safety program.
  • Investigate and report health and safety issues and incidents by conducting root cause analysis to identify hazards or faults that caused an incident and devise a strategic improvement plan with corrective actions if necessary.
  • Provide constructive feedback to managers on team member safety issues and assist them with the answering and followup on all deficiencies detailed in safety audits and reviews.
  • Promote and maintain employee safety awareness
  • Record and retain all OH&S required programs and documentation: training, records for hours and incidents, and required reporting.
  • Maintain current, uptodate knowledge of Canadian workplace safety regulations.
  • Manage the Preventative Maintenance Program and schedule required maintenance.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly safety meetings for safetyrelated topics.
  • Lead and conduct regular safety training as needed, and assist with onboarding safety orientations
  • Other duties as assigned to support the growth of MSC.

Minimum Requirements_

  • Associate degree in a safetyrelated field, and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in manufacturing, construction, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Canadian safety regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with personnel at all levels.
  • Must be selfdirected, able to manage time and projects independently
  • Experience with ISNetworld or COR certification considered an asset

Job Type:
Part-time hourly, Permanent (20+ hours per week). Possibility for full-time hours in the future (assisting in our production facility or other departments as required)
