Description

Position Scope:

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of the home in accordance with KMRS's mission, goals, guiding principles, policies and procedures.

The Program Coordinator provides leadership, direction while enforcing rules, regulations and policies to ensure an effective staff team and optimal service-delivery.


The Program Coordinator is, above all, responsible for ensuring that people with developmental disabilities are supported with respect, dignity and sensitivity.


The Program Coordinator is required to be able to independently manage their own time to a large extent while receiving administrative and program direction from the Executive Director.


Some specific responsibilties include:
Staff Management, financial planning, programming and saftey Maintence.


The Program Coordinator may be asked to assume some of the Executive Director's duties that continues the function of the home during their absence (scheduled or emergency) for periods of time exceeding five business days.

This is limited to agenda items that continue to preserve the state of Kings Meadow and does not include altering decision-making models, rule changing or engage in disciplinary actions without the approval or knowledge of the ED or the Board.

The Program Supervisor is required to independently manage thier own time to a large extent while receiving administrative and program direction from the Executive Director.

The Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director.

This is a 0.5 FTE part-time position, averaging 20hours/week. The incumbent must be willing to work flexible hours including days, evenings and weekends, along with on-call duties. The Program Coordinator has a flexible schedule they create with the supports of the ED.

Wage Range:
$23.00-$26.00/hr based on qualifications and experience.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Special Education or other human service area of study and two years experience in the field of cognitive disabilities
    or an equivalent combination of education, training and related work experience in a management position.
  • Experience and training in human resource management is an asset.
  • Must have experience in program development.
  • Must be prepared to work flexible hours.
  • Must provide a clear criminal record check which includes vulnerable persons.
  • Must provide a copy of their valid driver's license and a clear driver's abstract.
  • Strong leadership skills, be selfmotivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision/direction.
  • Have the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of general office skills.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must have effective problemsolving and communication skills, including the ability to make independent decisions and use good judgement in times of crisis.
