REPORTS TO:
DIRECTOR OF HOUSEKEEPING

DUTIES:

Cleaning of the guest rooms to standard as assigned
Performing very physical labour
Answering guest requests
Providing excellent customer service as per the standards of the Hotel

QUALIFICATIONS:

Good command of the English language is essential, both written and verbal
Must be neat, professional and well groomed
At least 1 to 2 years previous experience within a Hotel Housekeeping department
Must possess good organizational /time management skills
Must be a self motivator work with little supervision
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Must be in good physical condition, frequent pushing/pulling/reaching/stooping/handling and gripping is required
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs / 9 kg
Lifting above the shoulder is also required
Positive attitude and outgoing personality is essential
Additional languages spoken would be an asset
Must be able to work shifts days, evenings, weekends and holidays

Room Attendant Physical Requirements

Frequent standing and walking between various areas in guest room, up to 25ft in distance
Occasional reaching above shoulder when cleaning high areas
Frequent waist to shoulder movement when cleaning between waist and shoulder height, pushing/pulling vacuum 44" handle ht, push/pull cart 40" handle ht.
Constant unilateral and bilateral handling and gripping of various cleaning products
Occasionally uses finger manipulation when cleaning into corners, detailing, folding, etc.
Able to squat/crouch while reaching to access and clean low levels to floor and stoop frequently
Ability to lift above shoulder when removing/replacing linens to 70" ht. Avg. weight 1.2lbs
Frequent waist to shoulder and floor to waist lifting of cleaning tools with avg. weight of 1.2lbs
Will carry various items up to 25ft with range of weight from negligible up to 10lbs
Ability to regularly push/pull vacuum of (44"ht lbs of force and pushing/pulling of cart between rooms, up to 25 ft, 26.9lbs peak force, 11.2lbs sustained force. Lastly pulling/lifting up of mattress when tucking in sheets 20.1lbs of force.

Working Conditions

Generally works alone in an indoor setting
Use of electrical and mechanical equipment will be required
