    With facilities in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia, StandardAero is one of the largest independent aviation service providers in the world providing maintenance, repair and overhaul ("MRO") services to commercial, business and military aviation markets. The StandardAero Central Configuration Control team in Winnipeg is in search of a candidate for a Configuration Control Specialist (CCS) role. The successful candidate will have exposure to operations on a global scale and enjoy the unique opportunity to build knowledge and expertise working with both local and remote Business Units.

    Responsibilities include oversight and administration of large internal documentation sets, coordination of records archiving administration, generation and maintenance of component repair routings and providing support for all configuration control systems and data sets including bills of material, detailed part information, shop routings & work flow, etc. The candidate should be comfortable working in a software and database focused environment requiring an ability to learn and gain technical product and process knowledge. As well, familiarity with document authoring software and content management platforms such as MS Word, Adobe and Box would be an advantage. This position works with a number of business units, functional groups and Engineering personnel to ensure that supported functions are maintained appropriately and is responsible for providing training, doing functional audits and identifying improvement opportunities relative to any or all configuration control systems and data sets which form part of the in-house ERP system.

    What You'll do:

  • Provide support overseeing and administering large internal documentation sets and all related administrative activities for Central Engineering and Quality departments and other Enterprise Functional Groups, providing regular status reporting
  • Coordinate and administer site level specification and standards subscriptions for Engineering departments and sites/Business Units as assigned
  • Act as a site level central administrator and coordinator for records archive administration through the third party storage facility and directly manages all Central Engineering records archiving requirements
  • Generate and maintain component repair routings for multiple products and business units at the Winnipeg site
  • Provide hands-on support to StandardAero business units to establish, transition, correct or maintain configuration control and engineering data, systems or processes relating to technical documentation, documentation records, shop routings, bills of material, parts data, etc.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, training materials and documentation relevant to the performance of Configuration Control, document administration, and records management activities
  • Provide training for document administration, records management and configuration control systems or procedures to Configuration Control Specialists, functional groups and business unit personnel
  • Perform audits on documentation and configuration control data and processes to ensure accuracy, compliance to procedures and system requirements, and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Provide support as part of the central team for the development and continuous improvement of software based configuration control and engineering systems and data sets
  • Troubleshoot configuration control issues
  • Carry out special projects as assigned
  • What You'll need:

  • College diploma in a field of engineering technology, quality control, or an equivalent of several years of experience in an inspection or quality role associated with technical documentation
  • Strong organizational, analytical, decision making, leadership, interpersonal, planning, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with interest in process improvement
  • Proficiency in MS Office with a strong understanding of Excel and Access, and a high comfort level learning and navigating software applications generally
  • Knowledge of records management, documentation control and configuration control/management practices an asset.
