(TARRA) is an engineering firm licensed by the Professional Engineers Ontario to provide innovative and cost effective structural & geostructural design and monitoring services to the industry and to the general public.


TARRA's team has multitude of experience working with developers, architects, consultants and contractors on a wide range of projects of various types and scales.


Purpose
Providing accounting to ensure efficient operation of the accounting tasks (especially Accounting Receivables).

Assist the Manager on the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information.

You will closely work with Controller, Management and Project (PM) teams to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of data.

This position will report mainly to the Controller with mínimal to Principals and Office Manager


Responsibilities

  • Assist Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, data entry and management to ensure that the accounting is up to date
  • Assist production of monthly sales, financial statements and AR summaries
  • Maintaining accounting records to produce key financial reports
  • Database management, maintaining computer and manual filing systems
  • Assist with the production of monthly reports as needed for review and analysis
  • Assist and Lead in pursuing payment collection and work with client to resolve payment issues

Accounting tasks to Assist the Controller

  • Adjust entries from journal entries
  • Generate reports, perform audits, and prepare financial reports such as tax returns

Bookkeeper tasks:


  • Handle day to day tasks and responsibilities of recording financial records and transactions
  • Assist Record daily/weekly transactions within internal system(s)
  • Prepare, produce and track invoices
  • Assist Process and manages accounts payables
  • Assist Process reimbursement and expense reports
  • Assist payroll
  • Record daily/weekly

Marketing and Branding:


  • Opportunities to assist the Business Development team for outreach via social media and other tasks.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or related disciplines
  • Experience in BQE CORE Consulting software or QuickBooks Online is strongly preferred
  • Interesting of accounting preferably in the engineering/consulting and construction industry.
  • Project and Job costing analysis experience is an ideal.
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Previous experience in a multicompany environment
  • Previous experience in the Engineering/contracting/construction/distribution industry is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Must be selfmotivated with strong attention to detail and accuracy

Salary:
Competitive within the market rate (+$50,000)**
Location: Markham (North of Steele and Woodbine)
