Maintenance Supervisors to join its Mechanical Maintenance Team.

Reporting to the General Foreman Maintenance, as a
Maintenance Supervisor, you supervise and direct the maintenance team to ensure mechanical equipment maintenance at the Plant in order to meet safety, quality, efficiency, cost and service objectives.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures safe work practices and procedures.
  • Performs safety audit.
  • Ensures that all employees are trained on job requirements before permanent assignment.
  • Searches for new material to update training for all employees.
  • Ensures implementation of Company training programs and development of department's personnel.
  • Informs subordinators of performance expectations.
  • Monitors and evaluates performance and coaches as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance to Company regulations and policies. Ensures the usage of corrective measures/discipline on violations.
  • Defines Department Quality Standards and ensures all employees are aware of standards and new requirements.
  • Ensures ISO procedures are current and adhered to for the department. o Observes all safety rules. o Determines the repairs required, using reports and schedules, determines work schedules, plans shutdown and repairs. o Reports and investigates all accidents with an aim to prevent reoccurrence. o Conducts monthly safety meetings and makes safety observations. o Ensures that each employee is trained on their job. Complete training checklists as soon as training is completed. o Informs employees of expectations. o Assigns tasks, communicates work schedule and deadlines, set, and defines priority, reports on delays. Initiates preventive/corrective actions to meet deadlines. o In coordination with his supervisor attempts to settle concerns/interpretation disputes at his own level and applies provisions of the Collective agreements. o Completes daily shift reports. o Ensures timekeeping is approved on a weekly basis.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Industrial Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years of relevant experience in Industrial Maintenance field
  • Qualified and Red Seal certified trades person
  • Indepth knowledge Melt Shop / Rod Mill process **preferred
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety
  • Bilingual: English and French (oral and written) **preferred
  • Criminal background check **required
