About the Job

The Receiver is responsible for inspecting and verifying incoming and outgoing goods at our retail Garden Centre and Corporate Warehouse against invoices and other documents while safely loading and unloading product from transport vehicles to and from storage areas in our warehouse and nursery yard.

The Receiver is also responsible to ensure that the warehouse and receiving areas are well-organized and maintained to operational standards.

Your Accountabilities

Responsible for maintaining internal recordkeeping system for tracking shipping and receiving variances for all inbound and outbound materials at the Garden Centre and Corporate Warehouse.
Using an RF scanner to accurately record inventory of incoming products.
Control and minimize shrink through adherence to loss prevention best practices.
Packing and unpacking merchandise, unloading shipments, counting shipment inventory and claiming for damaged goods.
Ensuring that general maintenance and housekeeping of the warehouse and receiving areas are maintained at a high standard.
Set a positive example for compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations and assist with keeping high store standards and housekeeping while working safely.
Operating of a forklift in accordance with the procedures and policies of the organization.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Prior experience as a receiver or warehouse associate.
Excellent organizational and communication skills with a strong work ethic.
High attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with a sense of urgency, handling multiple demands, setting priorities and exhibiting strong problemsolving skills.
Punctual and dependable, you highly value honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
The ability to gain certification as a forklift operator.
This role will require fulltime availability and the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled on a reasonable basis.
The job requires extended periods of standing, as well as heaving lifting, bending and squatting at various times.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs continuously and work in various weather conditions and environments.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
